What is deep tissue massage?
Deep tissue massage uses slow, deliberate techniques to work with deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It may be a good fit when an area feels persistently tight, overworked, or limited after repetitive activity, exercise, travel, or long hours in one position.
Deep tissue massage is defined by the focus and depth of the work—not by using the hardest pressure possible. Your therapist gradually prepares the area, listens to your feedback, and adjusts the pace and intensity throughout the session.
What deep tissue massage can feel like
Focused pressure may feel strong, but it should remain within a range where you can breathe normally and communicate clearly. The therapist may work slowly through the shoulders, back, hips, legs, or another area connected to your goals rather than rushing through a standard routine.
You are always encouraged to speak up if pressure feels too intense, too light, or simply different from what you expected. Productive bodywork does not require you to endure pain.
How deep tissue fits into a customized mobile massage
Your in-home massage may include broader warming strokes, slower deep tissue work, gentle movement, and relaxation techniques. The exact blend depends on your intake information, pressure preference, focus areas, and how your body responds that day.
Because mobile massage brings the table and session essentials to you, you can receive focused deep tissue work in the comfort of home and relax afterward without an immediate drive.
When we may add trigger point therapy
If a few small, sensitive areas need more precise attention, your therapist may combine deep tissue massage with trigger point therapy. Deep tissue techniques can address a broader region while trigger point work focuses on a specific tender spot within that area.
We use either technique only when it supports your goals and comfort. Massage therapy is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment, and individual responses vary.
